The opening credits show various photographic and painted views, as well as Oklahoma landmarks, superimposed on the New York landscape: A statue of the Sioux Indian chief “Touch the Clouds” wearing a military headdress and a bone choker necklace (breastplate), set atop the Brooklyn Bridge. The classic fish-out-of-water scenario is well played
And the first episode does an excellent job of setting up what looks like an all-star cast. From the very beginning, the plot begins to intertwine. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised.
No computer graphics to be sure
We’ll see how the season unfolds, but so far it’s a big change of pace compared to some other series debuts lately. Only great characters, authentic dialogues, a smart story and a first-class cast.
